The 2009 film Avatar was revolutionary not only for its commercial and critical success, but also for its ground-breaking use of motion capture and computer graphics. With the release of Avatar 2, director James Cameron has built and utilised innovative technologies once more.

Cameron and his company Lightstorm Entertainment created a never-before-seen underwater motion capture technology for Avatar 2, which will include many underwater sequences.
